PRIORITIES

Public Safety

Public safety is the bedrock of any community. It has been and will continue to be my priority. It is absolutely necessary that we stay one of the best public safety employers in order to attract and retain the best talent and equip them with the resources needed to do their job. McKinney is one of the safest cities in the country and we have the highest fire safety rating possible, which keeps your home insurance rates low. I began my public service on the Police Chief’s Advisory Council and I am proud to have earned the endorsement of the Police and Fire unions when I first ran for office in 2021. I will continue to do what is necessary to provide the highest level of public safety to this city.

Economic Development

Before joining council, I served on the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. I know the importance of increasing our commercial tax base, attracting well paying jobs to our city, and training the workforce for tomorrow. In each of the last 3 years, McKinney has added more commercial tax base than any prior year. Over 1.6 billion that will help offset city costs and allow us to continue to lower residential tax rates. And I’m so excited about what the future holds with entertainment opportunities like the Venu Amphitheater and Cannon Beach Surf, which will bring billions in economic impact to the area. Our future is bright.

Infrastructure

Mobility and infrastructure are vital to our future. Not only do we need to maintain and improve our aging infrastructure, we need to be adding more capacity to provide relief to our ever filling roadways. In 2024, the citizens passed a $243.5 million road bond to help deal with both. The council also partnered with the MEDC and MCDC to provide a long term funding source of for infrastructure from sales tax so we can keep our property tax rates low. I’m excited to see the impact of these projects and improving our quality of life today and being able to sustain that for generations to come.

Parks

McKinney’s parks and recreation remains one of the biggest sources of pride for our city and one of the top reasons people and companies look to relocate here. I’m so excited about upcoming park projects with improvements to Erwin Park, Towne Lake Park, and the McKinney Soccer Complex that will add to recent projects like Finch Park and Al Ruschhaupt Park. Parks improvement and expansion will continue to be one of my top priorities in a second term.
